Junior Rockit (Ages 3-11 years)

Growing confident, happy kids through dance

Junior Rockit is where children aged 3–11 fall in love with movement, grow their confidence and build strong foundations for dance, school and life.

At every level we blend age-appropriate technique with imagination, play and social skills so children stay engaged, focused and proud of what they achieve each week.

The next step...

What families can expect

At Junior Rockit we know younger children today have different attention spans and physical starting points than even a few years ago, so our classes are built in short, engaging blocks that keep kids moving, thinking and smiling.

In every junior class you’ll see:

  • A predictable class routine so children feel safe and settled.

  • Short, focused activities (5–8 minutes) to match attention levels.

  • Clear visual demonstrations and props where helpful.

  • Positive behaviour strategies instead of pressure or fear.

We also teach holistic skills that support school and life: listening, taking turns, managing big feelings, persisting with challenges and being a kind teammate.

Progress you can see

We believe in holistic education, but we also know parents want to see concrete skills.

By the end of a typical year, many children will:

  • Pockit Rockit (3–4): Move to the beat, copy simple shapes and positions, join in group activities without a parent, remember short movement patterns.

  • Cadets (5–6): Hold strong “star” and “aeroplane” shapes, start balances on one leg, link 3–4 steps into a sequence, show focus for most of a 30–40 minute class.

  • Primary (7–8): Perform simple turns and jumps, remember longer choreography, use safe stretching habits, work cooperatively in pairs and small groups.

  • Juniors (9–11): Combine steps with dynamics and expression, show clear strength and flexibility improvements, take feedback and apply it, support younger or newer students.

Across the year we share:

  • Short in-class showings and two performances per year.

Flexible ways to start

We understand committing for a full semester can feel like a big step, especially for young families.

For new 3–11 year olds we offer:

  • Junior Starter Pack – 4 Week Trial

    • Try one class per week for 4 weeks in your chosen style and age group.

    • No enrolment fee during the starter pack.

    • If your child loves it, you can roll into the rest of the semester with the balance of fees calculated for you.

Our standard junior fees are:

  • Pockit Rockit (3–4): from approximately $16 per week (billed per semester).

  • Cadet, Primary and Junior (5–11): from approximately $19.95+ per week depending on number of classes (billed per semester).

  • Easy fortnightly payment plans available for families who prefer to spread payments across the semester.

We accept Sports Vouchers for eligible students in Reception to Year 9, providing up to $200 off your fees once per calendar year.

Pathways as your child grows

Every child’s journey is different. At Rockit, juniors can:

  • Dance recreationally (1–2 classes per week, low pressure, focus on fun and confidence).

  • Progress into more advanced pathways as they get older and want extra challenge, including performance opportunities and senior programs for committed students.

This means your child doesn’t have to switch studios as they grow – they can start small and dream big in one supportive community.

Why Adelaide Hills families choose Junior Rockit

  • Longstanding local studio with a strong reputation for inclusion and wellbeing.

  • Carefully structured programs created by an experienced educator, delivered by supported junior teachers who are mentored and trained in working with younger children.

  • A focus on both skills and character – we want children to feel proud of their dancing and proud of the person they are becoming.
