Mandatory Reporting

Mandatory reporting is when the law requires you to report known or suspected cases of abuse and neglect. It mainly relates to children, but can also relate to adults with disabilities.

In your position as a teacher, you are a mandated notifier. It is important that you complete the Fundamentals (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care (RRHAN-EC)) program via the link below. Once completed, you will understand your obligations in regards to protecting your students.

Should you believe a student is in harm, first speak with Noni. Present your concerns. If the case is deemed as requiring notification, either yourself or Noni can make the notification.  Below are links for you to consider in regards to the situation. Look for patterns and clusters of indicators that lead you to believe a child or young person is in harm.

If you have any questions or concerns, it is best to talk with Noni.
